Details on what might have transpired before the bodies of Judith Wanjiku, 73 and her daughter Catherine Mwai were found murdered have emerged.
The elderly woman was found on a blood-soaked mattress, a sisal rope tied around her neck.
They lived with Judith's ailing husband who was hospitalized at the time of the murders.
They were described as friendly, generous and God-fearing.
Speaking about the mother and daughter Julius Mutevi a guard at the estate said
"Judith was a good woman, she used to give us food, mattresses, money, among other goodies. We are indeed shocked to lose such a wonderful person,”
Makadara deputy police commander Purity Muthoni said the two were reportedly dropped home in a black Toyota Prado at about 2 am on Sunday.
The guard said he was unable to get the plate number.
