A well known Nyahururu businessman by the name Solomon Mukiri Karanja collapsed and died as he was having a beer at a local bar in Mairo trading centre.

The 35-year-old man was with a female friend, said to be 23 years just enjoying their drinks before the misfortune happened on Monday night, shocking everyone in the nightclub.

According to Nairobi News, the businessman had only taken one bottle of beer and had asked for another round, but suddenly, he collapsed, falling down on the floor.

This is what Nyandarua North OCPD Timon Odingo said regarding the incident;

According to the bar attendant at the joint, the deceased had taken one beer and asked for another 'round' when he suddenly collapsed and fell on the floor.

After the incident was reported at the Mairo-Inya police station at 12 am, police took Mr Mukiri to a nearby private hospital in Nyahururu but sadly, was pronounced dead on arrival.

Mr Odingo said that they have launched investigations to establish the cause of death;

We have recorded statements from the female friend and other patrons. We don't take such incidents lightly and only a doctor can ascertain the cause of death. He left his glass halfway.

The body was taken to Nyahururu Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
