Nairobi businessman Kevin Omwenga was yesterday laid to rest in an intimate ceremony attended by close friends at his home in Kisii.

Omwenga died from a gun shot wound after he was shot at his Kilimani home by his friend-cum-business partner Robert Ouko.

During the burial, Wycliffe Omwenga, brother to the late Kevin revealed that before his death they were planning their mothers memorial but that will never happen.

'Kevin died on the same date as our mother, who passed away one year ago.'

Kevin's death has had a heavy impact on Wycliffe as he was present during the Kilimani shooting that left his brother dead.

He was in the kitchen preparing dinner when the incident happened.

In a CCTV footage that has since gone viral, Ouko and some of his friends were seen carrying Kevin and taking him to a car.

Only for him to be declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

A post mortem report by government pathologist Johansen Oduor said the bullet tore through the heart leading to the collapse of the left lung and a lot of internal bleeding in the left side of the chest.

“THE BULLET CAME OUT THROUGH HIS BACK ON THE LEFT SIDE AFTER GOING THROUGH THE VITAL ORGANS INCLUDING THE HEART. WHAT ACTUALLY KILLED HIM WERE THE INJURIES,” SAID DR ODUOR.

Further adding

‘IT LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE WHO DIED INSTANTLY. WHEN THE HEART IS INJURED, YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE CHANCES OF SURVIVAL.”
