ODM's Memusi Wins the Kajiado Central By-election

Orange Democratic Movement's Elijah Memusi will now take the position left by Rtd Major General Joseph Nkaissery who was appointed the Interior Cabinet Secretary last year.

Memusi garnered 16,008 votes, Jubilee Alliance Party's Patrick Tutui got 15,508 of the votes as Independent candidate Kuntai Nkashuma got 100 votes.

The hotly contested election recorded a high voter turnout (79.95 per cent). 57 out of the 31,616 votes were spoilt. Turn out was lower than in 2013 which was 92 per cent (but is highest in all parliamentary (National Assembly) by-elections held since 2013.
