The University of Nairobi (UoN) Information Systems graduate took to Facebook on Friday to ask for help in raising his bail fees while rubbishing claims that he is a thief.

In his defense, Mutuku said one of his resolutions for this year was take a tour around East and Southern Africa and one international trip.

Seeing that flying was too expensive and out of his reach, he decided to embark on his trip from one city to the next by bus.

However, Mutuku said he was forced to end his trip because he had spent Sh73,000 by the time he got to Tanzania.

He decided to come back to the country since the deadline to register as a voter was also quickly approaching.

His trip across East and Southern Africa has now been propagated by the media as "living large" in what he says is an attempt to sell more copies of the dailies.

Mutuku claims he's just a fall guy, adding that his "life's savings are not remotely close to a billion, let alone four."

In addition, the accused says he believes this just a storm and just like every test, it shall come to pass and he will emerge victorious.

Mutuku who will be arraigned in court on Tuesday, March 28 asked his friends to contribute towards his bail which will be determined on the said date.
