Family appeals for help to find missing son after Hillside Academy fire, Endarasha

•2 of the boys died in the hospital while undergoing treatment and 19 other bodies were recovered from the burnt dormitory.

 Rose Wambui, a parent whose son went missing during the recent dormitory fore at Hillside Academy, Endarasha has appealed for help to trace him.

Brandon Kinuthia's whereabouts remain unknown.

Through her socials, Mama Brandon shared a photo of the boy adding

 "Please we are still looking for our boy Brandon Kinuthia. If you are a parent and maybe you rescued him from hillside academy fire tragedy, please contact the school. We still hold on to the hope of finding him."

The fire, which broke out on Thursday, September 5, claimed the lives of 21 pupils out of the 156 who were in the dormitory that night.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua had earlier said  70 children were missing, adding that they were hosted by residents on the night of the tragedy when they ran away to escape the flames.

Addressing journalists  days after the fire Government Spokesman Isaac Mwaura told residents to stop speculating about the number of pupils who had lost their lives.

"Let's give detectives time to investigate and we will give a conclusive statement on the fatalities," he said.

Residents who spoke to the media said very few pupils were hosted in the village.
