Tuesday saw the closure of many major routes in Nairobi as protests persisted throughout the city.

Among the roads that demonstrators blocked were Mombasa Road near Mlolongo and Waiyaki Way.

For security purposes, cops blocked off other roads.

Processional Way and State House Road are two of them.

Additionally, all routes leading to the State House were blocked.

These comprise Jakaya Kikwete Road, Valley Road, State House Avenue, Dennis Pritt Road, and nearby feeder roads.

On Tuesday, both Cit Hall Way and Parliament Road were off-limits to cars and pedestrians.

The Finance Bill, which has generated a great deal of controversy and dissent, was the catalyst for the protests.

President William Ruto was forced to rescind the bill following a flurry of demonstrations due to criticism regarding its possible economic effects.

Nevertheless, the youths have persisted in their rallies, calling on President Ruto to carry out additional administrative reforms.
