Govt. announces 64 job vacancies in 3 state corporations

The government has released job openings in several state-run organizations. These vacancies were announced on the MyGov platform on Tuesday, April 9.

Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. The Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute, operating under the Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs, has advertised 24 job vacancies.

The institute aims to fill positions including Director, Internal Audit (1), Chief Research Scientist (4), Deputy Director, Laboratory Services (1), Deputy Director, Information Communication Technology (1), Deputy Director, Technical Capacity Building (1), Deputy Director, Business Development Services (1), and Assistant Director, Human Resource Management (1).

Additionally, there are openings for Assistant Director, Administration, Assistant Director, Resource Mobilization and Partnership Development, Assistant Director of Information Science, Principal Risk Management and Quality Assurance Officer, Principal Legal Officer, Senior Records Management Officer, and Senior Legal Assistant, each occupying one position.

The institute is also seeking to hire Assistant Research Scientists (4) and drivers (2). They have also re-advertised the Principal Resource Mobilization Officer (1) position.

Interested and qualified candidates are required to fill out the Job Application Form (available on the KMFRI Website -, attach their testimonials, certificates, a copy of their National Identification Card (ID), and Curriculum Vitae (CV).

Applications must be submitted in both hard and soft copy, and the envelopes containing the documents should be clearly marked with the applied position. The deadline for applications is April 29, 2024.

Kenya Power

Kenya Power is looking to fill 24 positions. They are inviting applications for Chief System Administrator, Enterprise Architecture and IT Infrastructure, Chief System Analyst, Business Support and Intelligence, Principal Systems Analyst (Business Intelligence), Oracle Database Administrator I, Oracle Database Administrator III, and Oracle Database Administrator IV.

Other positions include System Administrator I, System Administrator III, System Administrator IV, SAP Basis Administrator II, Systems Developer III, Systems Developer IV, System Security Analyst I, Principal Security Analyst, and Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Expert/Engineer.

They are also hiring Senior Systems Developers I (2 positions), System Security Analyst IV (4 positions), and Senior Systems Security Analyst (2 positions).

The deadline for submitting applications is April 22, 2024, at 5 pm. Kenya Power encourages youth, female candidates, Persons with Disabilities (PWD), and marginalized community candidates to apply.

Kenya Electricity Transmission Company

The Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited is also recruiting for 16 positions.

Ketraco is in need of a Senior Manager, Transmission System Planning (KET3), Manager, Real-Time Operations (KET4), Manager, Substations (KET4), Manager Internal Audit, Finance, and Operations (KET4), Manager Supply Chain Management, Project Services, and Office Operations (KET4), and Senior Engineer Power Dispatch (KET 5), each occupying one position.

Other openings include Human Resource Officer - Payroll and Compensation (KET6), Business Development Officer (KET6), Office Administrator - (KET7), and Receptionist - (KET8), each in one position.

They are also recruiting Security Officer - Operations (KET6) (2 positions), Legal Officers - Litigation (KET6) (2 positions), and Supply Chain Assistant Stores and Warehouse -(KET7) (2 positions).

Ketraco has set the deadline for submitting applications on April 19, 2024, at 5 pm.
