KPLC: Kiambu and Kajiado counties among 5 scheduled to lose power today

• The power outages are normally done for the power company to do planned maintenance.

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in various areas across five counties on Monday. The affected regions and respective outage timings are as follows:

Kiambu County: Power outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm affecting Kwa Maiko Shops, Raini Village, Kambui Girls Sec, Mitahato Shops, Gathirimu Girls, Riagithu Village, Mchana Est, Kofinaf HQtrs Offices, Oakland, Osha Grain, Mega Pipes, Ruiru Mills, Jacaranda Water, Ngewe House, Manila, Ndondu, and adjacent customers.

Kajiado County: Power interruption from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm impacting Isinya Town, Ramoda, Naresho Kenchic, Pipeline Rd, Techno Steel, Ashanti, Kongoni, Inkiito, PJ Dave, and adjacent customers.

Turkana County: Interruptions scheduled from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Kalemngorok Town, Kalemngorok Dispensary, Katilu Centre, Kaptir Centre, Kakongu Trading Centre, Kaputir Mkt, Safaricom Kokito Hills, Centre Kanza, Tapoyo Pri, Cheptuyus Pri, Tullow, Lokichar H/Centre, Sarmarch, and adjacent customers.

West Pokot County: Cemtech area and adjacent customers will experience interruptions from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Embu County: Interruptions starting from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm affecting Mayori Mariari, Kiambere, Getua Apostolic, Kiamugongo Sch, Nguthi Sch, Kirie Mkt, Kirie Mission & Sch, Kianjogu, Mukororia, Kandomba, Gacabari, and adjacent customers.

Additionally, Kenya Power had earlier announced power rationing in 12 counties in Western, Nyanza, and Rift Valley due to the unavailability of the North Rift transmission power line.

Affected regions included Eldoret, Nandi, Bungoma, Kakamega, Kisumu, Busia, Nakuru, Nyandarua, Kericho, Bomet, Kisii, and Homabay counties, enduring intermittent power outages for two hours at a time.

This is the second instance of outages in less than a month due to issues with the North Rift power transmission.
