Daughter of late well-known matatu driver of Subukia Shrine accident mourns him

β€’ 5 died and 9 were injured in the weekend accident for women who attended a prayer meeting in Subukia.

The driver of the tragic matatu, which transported CWA women from Subukia's Marian Shrine, has been remembered as a cheerful man, cherished by many passengers.

The victims, including the driver and women from St. Peters Gaitega of the Cathedral Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Murang’a, were heading home after participating in a National prayer meeting at Subukia's Marian Shrine on Friday evening.

The affectionate nickname for the driver was Manyeki, and according to various TikTok accounts, he was a well-known matatu driver along the lengthy Nyahururu-Nyeri highway.

Many expressed their grief for him, and his daughter, Shany Browny, used her TikTok account to mourn her father.

She shared a video of her late father on January 1st, joyfully celebrating with friends.
