Kenya Power announces power blackout in 8 counties Tuesday

• The counties to experience power interruption in some areas include Nairobi, Nakuru, Trans, Nzoia, Migori, Meru, Embu, Kiambu and Mombasa.

• The power interruptions will start at 9.00 am to 5.oo pm.

Kenya Power announced power interruptions in eight counties on Tuesday.

The counties to experience power interruption in some areas include Nairobi, Nakuru, Trans, Nzoia, Migori, Meru, Embu, Kiambu and Mombasa.

The power interruptions will start at 9.00 am to 5.oo pm.

In a statement on Monday, the power company said that interruptions are part of network maintenance. 

"The listed areas will be affected by planned power interruptions tomorrow ( September 12, 2023). The interruption is part of network maintenance," the statement read.

Areas to be affected in Nairobi include Kangemi, parts of Waiyaki Way, Sodom, Kinda school and Nairobi water among other areas.

In Nakuru the whole of the White House and Kiti Date, the whole of Blankets, and Kiratina among other areas.

Customers of Kenya Power in Trans - Nzoia including Maili Saba, Sibanga, Makunga and Kipsaina among others will experience disruptions.

In Migori county areas including Nyamarambe, Riosiri, Emesa village, and parts of Tabaka among others.

Meru County areas include Maua town, Athi Kiegoi, Nyambene Hospital, Luluma and Methodist Hospital among others.

In Embu, areas include Masinga, Sogea, Kamukunzi, Mukusu, Masinga boy and girls secondary schools and Msingini among others.

Tola, Bob Harris, Whole of Tula, Kiahuria, Ndarungo and Metro among other areas will experience disruptions.

In Mombasa areas including Nyali, Bamburi, Masjid Noor, Murji Farm, Mwembelegeza and Kisumu Ndogo among others.
