Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that students will now be able to check their placement results through their portal.

KUCCPS, through its Twitter handle on Monday morning, said that students will get to know their placement status by sending an SMS.

They will send their index numbers starting with the year that they sat their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.

"Send your index number starting with your KCSE year to 20842. No space, no slash," KUCCPS said.

However, they noted that one will have to incur costs when sending the SMS.

In case of any trouble or difficulty, KUCCPS further noted that one can reach out to their helpline 020513740 for assistance.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on Monday announced that the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education students who sat their exam last year will now know the universities and colleges they have been placed in.

He said all courses available at the institutions are government-sponsored in line with the new university and TVETs funding model unveiled by President William Ruto on May 3.

The minimum entry point to university is a C+.
