Governor for Uasin Gishu Jonathan Bii in a social media post confirmed the death of the student identified as Rodgers Kipruto.

Bii said the student left Kenya in September 2022 to pursue his nursing studies at Laurea University Tikkurila campus in Finland through the county overseas education programme.

"The passing of Kipruto is a great loss to the family, friends, the Chirchir community and the nursing profession," Bii said.
