She denied the charges before Milimani chief magistrate Lukas Onyina and pleaded for lenient bond terms.

The court was told that the lady and the complaint were in a relationship for a period nine years and that they broke up in 2019.

''The said offense was committed in 2019 and the accused is being charged with more than four years, they were in a business with the complainant," the court heard.

While asking the court to release her on bail, a lawyer representing Fatima said that the allegations of threatening to kill were committed in 2019 when the emotions of the accused person were high due to the separation.

"It is now four years and everyone has moved on," lawyer Peter Wanyama said.

However, the court was urged to grant bond terms that reflect the years that the complainant has been seeking justice.

"These are very serious offenses from people who know each other well, she is a commercial director of a media company. She should be restrained from any contact with the complainant or any of the witnesses."

Hussein's lawyer further said his client has been chasing justice for the last four years.

The court is yet to give a ruling on bond terms
