A 32-year-old man was electrocuted as he illegally tapped power from a transformer in the Sunton area, Nairobi.

The body of Peter Njoroge was found next to the transformer in the Gituamba area on Wednesday night. Residents alleged that he had tried to connect power to a structure nearby.

Police and Kenya Power officials who visited the scene said he touched a live wire which killed him on the spot.

The body was moved to the mortuary. Officials have blamed illegal power connections for electrocutions in most informal settlements.

There is a campaign to address the menace, which has claimed dozens of lives.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died by suicide in their house in the Pangani area, Nairobi.

The motive of the incident remains unknown. The body of the boy was found hanging using a bed sheet in their kitchen.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and further probe.

In Mutindwa bridge, the body of a street boy was found moment after he had complained of stomach ache.

And two suspects were lynched by a mob in botched robberies. One of the incidents happened in Kibera slums while the second one happened in Riruta area.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary.
