• The President nominated the former Kitutu Masaba MP for the post on February 13, to replace Kennedy Ogeto, who was appointed by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.

On Monday, President Willi Ruto presided over the swearing in of  Shadrack Mose as Solicitor General at State House, Nairobi.

The ceremony happened at a time Azimio la Umoja were staging demos across the country. 

It followed his appointment to the position by President William Ruto on Wednesday last week. The President presided over the swearing-in ceremony.

"Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you," Ruto said.

"I have confidence that you have the requisite experience, understanding and knowledge to support and provide leadership in the office of the Attorney General.

"I have worked with you long enough to know that you are up to the task and I expect no less than the best from you because I know you are capable," he added.

"And if I get any less it's because you have refused not because you don't have what it takes."

The President nominated the former Kitutu Masaba MP for the post on February 13, to replace Kennedy Ogeto, who was appointed by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018.

A total of 18 applications applied for the job but the Public Service Commission shortlisted eight candidates whose interviews were conducted on December 13 and 14, 2022.
