Mudavadi once again justifies having a govt office for his wife

 Musalia Mudavadi the Prime Cabinet Secretary has defended the government's move to establish the office of his wife Tessie Mudavadi.

Through a statement, Musalia said forming the Office of the Spouse to The Prime Cabinet Secretary is a step in the right direction.

"I believe the days when the spouses of political leaders only appear in ceremonies and say or do nothing are gone," he said. 

Musalia added that the contribution the wives bring to the families set up should be mirrored in the larger society. 

"Our wives learn so much from our daily leadership engagements," he said. 

The first Prime Cabinet Secretary urged citizens to come forward as a society and support his wife in the noble cause that will impact many lives.

"Tessie has stepped forward with Ushiriki Wema Initiative to scale down the huge gap that lies within the differently abled people in society," he said. 

On Friday, Musalia was a special guest at the launch of the Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

"The office will complement work being done by the Office of the First Lady and the Office of the Spouse to the Deputy President," the statement read.
