Jose Chameleone has set the record straight after long-term speculations that his 2012 hit song 'Valu Valu' was written by fellow Ugandan singer King Saha.

The hit song which has over three million views on YouTube is one of the many fan-loved classics of the singer.

It was produced by Paddy Man.

In a TV interview, Chameleone shut down the rumours that the song was written by someone else other than him.

“Does Saha sing or speak Swahili? So then, what did he add to Valu Valu? Very simple," he asked.

Adding “You could have been present when the song was being recorded but being present when a house is being built doesn’t make you its builder," he said.

"Saha doesn’t speak Swahili. If he wrote Valu Valu, let him write another similar song then. Wouldn’t he want to have a big song like it?”

Chameleone is set to perform at his own show dubbed the Legend Ggwanga Mujje this Friday at Lugogo Cricket Oval Stadium in Uganda.

This comes days after journalists questioned whether his wife Daniella Atim will attend the singer's show following rumours that they were not in good terms.

Chameleone asked them to contact her and ask her if they miss her.

"If you miss Mama Abba, get her number, look for her on Instagram and have your chats there," he said.

“This concert is not for Mama Abba and Chameleone. This event belongs to Joseph Chameleone. Those of you who are yearning for her can find her on Instagram. Call her, slide into her inbox, or whatever you want, but this event is strictly Legend Gwanga Mujje! Thank you,”.
