William Ruto's government will unveil a task force to review the terms and conditions of police officers.

This is according to President William Ruto who spoke at the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium on Monday.

“I’m going to form a task force that will look into the welfare of the police officers across the ranks in the police force,” he said.

Ruto emphasized that his government is committed to improving the working conditions of police officers.

The task force would look into the issues of salaries, allowances, uniforms and housing, which have bedevilled police officers for a long time.

During the campaigns, Ruto and his running mate, Rigathi Gachagua said the Kenya Kwanza coalition will restore dignity in the civil service if they won the August presidential election.

The duo said the Kenya Kwanza coalition will ensure civil servants are supported at work, including better salaries and promotions.

They said that officers with degrees will be remunerated according to their academic qualifications.

The duo also said the plan for better terms for the police, chiefs, and assistant county commissioners was geared toward restoring dignity in the civil service, adding that there was more in store for farmers and youths.
