Following a recent Alshabab bombing in Mogadishu, Somalia, the government of Kenya offered humanitarian support to the Somalian government.

The KDF Food Processing Factory delivered assorted food items such as corned beef, dry potatoes, onions, bread, carrots, and mixed vegetables.

However, a section of Kenyans are not happy with the act of kindness from the government.

Speaking after receiving the relief food, the Somalia government through minister Daudi Awess thanked Kenyans for the kind act.

“We thank Kenya’s president H.E Hon. William Ruto for responding positively and urgently to the call for assistance by our President HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud noting that the closeness between the two nations is crucial in the pursuit of peace and security in Somalia,” said Daudi Awess.

This comes at a time when there have been reports of drought in the country precisely Turkana, Marsabit, and the Northern part of Kenya.

According to the United Nations, over 90 percent of water sources have dried up. Most families in these areas have also lost their livestock.

Reports indicate that more than four million people are grappling with acute hunger in Kenya.

UNICEF also reports that nearly 900,000 children under the age of five in affected counties need treatment for life-threatening severe acute malnutrition.

Here are some reactions from Kenyans;

Fredrick Nzomo So the Kenyan government has enough relief food to take to neighbors when her own citizens are starving and dying, livestock dying, and wildlife also dying. Oh wait, it's the same government that took flowers to the UK instead of doing anything to its own citizens.

Sub Chief charity begins at home In Northeastern Kenya & parts of Rift valley kids are going for over 2 wks without a single bite of food & a single drop of water yet you are ferrying food to neighboring countries

thetrendymood_254Why are we feeding other nations when Kenyans are dying of hunger? Who is the government trying to please in Somalia 😢
