Hussein Mohamed's 1st statement after being appointed State House spokesperson

The former Citizen TV news anchor also thanked Kenyans who congratulated him in large numbers on his new job.

Celebrated Media personality Hussein Mohamed has broken his silence after being appointed new State House Spokesperson by President William Ruto.

In a statement released on Saturday, Mohamed thanked Ruto for the opportunity to serve in his government as the State House spokesperson.

“Mr. President @WilliamsRuto, I’m grateful & humbled by the honour you have bestowed upon me to serve as State House Spokesperson. I pledge to tirelessly work in supporting you deliver the plan to achieve greatness for our republic,” read part of the message.

The former Citizen TV news anchor also thanked Kenyans who congratulated him in large numbers on his new job.

“Thanks, patriots for your congratulatory messages,” Hussein Mohamed said.

On Friday, President William Ruto appointed Hussein Mohamed as the new State House Spokesperson taking over from Kanze Dena. 

Before the appointment, Hussein was the Head of Communications in President William Ruto's team.

The former Citizen TV anchor will work closely with David Mukonyi who have been appointed Head of the Presidential Communication service.
