Nation Media Group's CEO Resigns! Here Is His Next Move

The new year will see a new CEO joining media giant Nation Media Group

The Kimathi street’s Chief Executive Officer Joseph Muganda has resigned from the establishment to take a new job at Vivo Energy.

Muganda will be Vivo's Managing Director, a job formerly held by Polycarp Igathe - the deputy Nairobi Governor.

Muganda, who has been on the job for just two and a half years, announced his resignation on Monday, December 11.

Nation Media Group's statement that was issued immediately after the resignation read:

“Mr Muganda has aggressively driven our product portfolio review, presided over a general restructuring and re-oriented the business to seize the opportunities presented by the digital disruption in the media sector,” said Wildred Kiboro, the NMG Group Chairman.

Muganda who joined the company in July 2015 from EABL will be replaced by the company’s Group Finance Director Mr. Stephen Gitagama come January 31.

Adding, "He will leave a leaner, nimbler organisation whose future commercial success is already evident in the positive trajectory of returns from the investments in digital initiatives. We wish him well in his future pursuits.”

Vivo's statement by David Mureithi the company’s Executive Vice President for East and South Region read:
