Mystery of missing terrorist and house full of explosives in Githurai

Police are looking for a terror suspect after a house he had been staying alone was found with explosive devices in Nairobi’s Githurai area.

Paul Mwangangi had deserted his house since July 2019 when his landlord decided to break in for defaulting to pay his rent.

It was then he stumbled on three smoke grenades, a cartridge, two white t-shirts with Al-shabaab writings and military jungle hat.

Officers from the Anti-Terror Police Unit were called to the scene and took away the recovered paraphernalia.

Police say they are looking for the suspect.

Meanwhile, 52 security personnel are among 1,254 people in forced quarantine after violating nationwide curfew regulations.

Interior CAS Hussein Dhadho said 38 are from the National Police Service while 10 are from the Kenya Army while three others are prison officers and one from the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
