Fear and grief engulfed Jambo area in Karatina town, Nyeri County Thursday afternoon as a mother her daughter and a niece was found murdered inside their shop.

The three, who police did not immediately identify were discovered after the mother took a long time to attend to customers at her shop.

  “We received information that a lady and two young girls, aged around ten years, in this shop where we are had been murdered,” said Nyeri County Police Commander Mr Adriel Nyange at the scene.

He continued,

“That girl did not come back again, the murderer was still inside and the girl was also trapped and murdered.”

The police boss said the bodies were left inside the shop while it appeared the murderer escaped through the front door of the shop.

He added that police have arrested one suspect who is helping them with investigations. He appealed to members of the public to volunteer any vital information that could assist the police.

            Neighbours interviewed said that somebody called the lady and informed her that there was a guest who wanted to see her. They claim that was the last time she was seen alive.

              Nyange warned that nobody has a right to take away the life of another, adding that the suspect (s) would face the full wrath of the law.  The bodies were removed to Karatina Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
