Tuesday this week was a sad day as we bid farewell to celebrated Swahili news anchor Ahmed Darwesh. The ever smiling newscaster who passed away on Monday was laid to rest at Kikowani Cemetry in Mombasa.

Despite being one of the top journalists in the country, Ahmed Darwesh lived a private life. Unlike most local media personalities who thrive on controversy and publicity through posting photos of their families, including their days old children, Darwesh kept his life under wraps.

Well, for those who did not know much about Ahmed; he left behind a widow, two young daughters aged between 3-5 and a son who is a month old.
