The late Safaricom boss Bob Collymore loved looking sharp.

The secret was his designer, Ozwald Boateng. Born in London to Ghanaian parents Boateng's talent for flare and design came very early.

After dropping out of the computing course he was studying at the time he enrolled into Southgate College to study fashion.

Recognising that the signs for his future career had been around him all along, working from his mother's sewing machine he created his first collection which he sold to menswear fashion store Sprint in London's Covent Garden in the late 80s.

His design evokes the essence of a man’s spirituality and character through the enhancement of the physical being.

His artistry was vouched for by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. He said during Collymore's memorial service at All Saints Cathedral,

"I know that tailor, the man (Peter Kenneth) spoke about, I actually did have a conversation with Bob Collymore about that tailor, I used that tailor, he is a great tailor."

Boateng's skill has seen him dress all the A-list celebrities in Hollywood.
