After jetting in for a film shoot slightly over two weeks ago, the Oscar Award winner was in Uganda yesterday to continue with the shooting of her latest film project. The film is being directed by talented director Mira Nair. Her projects include 2009's Amelia, 2004's Vanity Fair and 2001's Monsoon Wedding.

The film is called Queen of Katwe and Lupita is starring as the mother to the brilliant teen. The subject of the film, Phiona Mutesi, grew up in abject poverty and thus lacked school fees to get an education.

She made a decision to join the Sports Outreach Institute as a chess player and since then, life for her . The movie, which will also be shot in South Africa, is being produced by Disney.

Lupita Nyong'o has been on other projects lately, from being a to working on. She's also starring in Star Wars: Episode VII releasing on December 18th this year.
