Did you know that tigers aren't found in Africa? They are only found in Asian countries like India, Russia, China, and Nepal.

Tigers are classified as cat species under the genus Panthera Tigris which also have the lion, leopard, and Jaguars.

They are found in habitats like rainy forests, grasslands, savannas, and mangrove swamps. They mostly love the savannas because of their camouflage(blend with their surrounding)  when searching for prey.

Here are some amazing facts about them that you probably didn't know;

1. They are also one of the most rare animals around the world.

2. They don't normally live in groups but track and mark territories by leaving marks of urine and feces where they are.  

3.  Tigers can tell the age, gender, and reproductive condition of other Tigers by smelling their urine

4. Tigers have soft toe pads that help them walk silently through their habitat and will typically travel 6-12 miles during a night's hunting. 

5.  A Tiger’s legs are so powerful that they can remain standing even when dead, they have been known to have been shot, bleed out, and die, all while standing up.

6. Tigers are strong, powerful, and one of nature's most feared predators.

7. They are good swimmers and often cool off in pools or streams compared to the other cat families they are the best.

8. The markings on a Tiger’s forehead closely resemble the Chinese character for a king, giving tigers a cultural status as regal animals.

9. The female tigers have less weight compared to the male tigers.

10. Wild tigers live up to 15- 16 years while those that are domesticated or captivated live 20-25 years.
