Yesterday Ababu Namwamba, the CS for Youth Affairs, Sports, and Arts visited media legend Catherine Kasavuli in hospital.

The CS paid glowing tribute to the legendary former news anchor at Kenyatta Hospital where she is recuperating.

Ababu’s ministry posted about the visit with photos and accompanied it with a history of the veteran media personality.

Their glowing tribute also celebrated her as the first 1st female TV anchor in Kenya, inspiring generations of female anchors.

From the images, one can see that Catherine's infectious smile is still there despite the tough illness she has been facing.

Early last month, Catherine revealed that her journey after a cervical cancer diagnosis has not been easy. Kasavuli has been admitted at the facility since October 26.

"It is not an easy journey but I believe in God's faithfulness and breakthrough."

Through her official social media page, Kasavuli said that the last month has been crazy for her.

"Last one month has been crazy for me, I want to take this moment and appreciate my family, colleagues, doctors and the Catherine Kasavuli foundation," she said.

She has further thanked people who came out to donate blood for her when they were called upon.

"To special people that have come forth to donate blood, may God bless you, may He enrich your beautiful souls, may He meet with the desires of your heart," she wrote.

In another update,  Kasavuli also noted that she was a strong woman as she thanked people who are praying for her.

"I know I'll fight this. I am currently getting ready for a phase two procedure," she said.

She recently returned on TV after KBC hired her among veterans to revamp the media house. She had taken a four-month break and returned to her Instagram in October.

Friends are also contributing to the paybill number 8089700 as a way of standing with the veteran journalist.
