A police officer has opened up about his mental health in a video that has since gone viral.

In the video he introduces himself as police officer Kiprotich Rop based in Marsabit and proceeded to reveal that he is dealing with depression and her "does not want to die".

Rop explained, "I want to confess something, I have been suffering from depression, I have been trying to kill myself, nobody wants to hear me, nobody wants to help me, I'm really, really, depressed. I'm requesting everyone who can help me cope up with depression."

"Suicidal thoughts have been coming severally, even today I have been feeling... I have been trying to kill myself," adding, "Please help me, I don't want to die. My wife is pregnant. I don't want to leave them behind, please help me, I'm suffering a lot."

He concluded, "I have not slept for the last five days please help me, I'm ready to be helped."
