Netflix, world's leading streaming entertainment service has introduced a free plan for mobile phone users.
In the plan that was rolled out yesterday, September 21, fans will enjoy almost all of Netflix’s content on android mobile phones, without paying a subscription fee.
The free plan will allow Kenyans to enjoy ads-free films on Netflix with personalised recommendations and parental controls.
The announcement comes months after Netflix launched a mobile only plan in Kenya.
Fans were required to pay Kshs. 300 to watch films on their phones or a Value Plan of Kshs. 1 100.
“If you’ve never watched Netflix before — this is a great way to experience our service. We hope it’s a great match and that many of the people who try our free plan love Netflix so much that over time they upgrade to a full, paid subscription so you can enjoy our full catalog on your TV or laptop as well,” says Cathy Conk, Netflix’s Director of Product Innovation.
