Legendary Kenyan actress Charity Mwamba known for her role as a mother-in-law in the Citizen TV drama series has advised women to always leave toxic relationships.

Charity further added that when couples divorce they should follow and respect the children's interests first.

Speaking during an interview with Metha ya Kagoni, Charity shared:

"What I have learned with my case is that children belong to both parents.

When parents separate, the parent who is financially able should be the one left with the kids so that they don't suffer.

Children are always the most affected by divorce.

You cannot compare the pain a parent is going through to that of the kids.

Just let him go, move on and start a new life.''

She further added:

''Let's not lose our lives because  of people who are not even bothered, to an extent that we get depression.'

Don't waste your energy on things that don't benefit you. If they are happy let them stay, don't force things."
