Accidents in December have become the norm, which is really a sad thing to say but is true. What happens that suddenly in this month, the rate of road accidents rises exponentially as compared to other months. This fact may be due to public service vehicles trying to cash in on many people going to ushago and thus speeding to try to increase the number of the trips that they can take.

Take this latest sad incident that occurred on the in which seven passengers lost their lives on Saturday night.  It occurred when an Eldoret-bound Public Service Vehicle with 14 passengers lost control colliding with two trucks heading to Nakuru. The 9 pm accident happened at Kamara area in Koibatek division, Baringo county.

NTSA, however, says they are working the Kenya National Highways Authority to reverse the worrying trend, by installing additional humps, rumble strips including road marking and signage.

Hope that these measures save more lives.
