'Governor Joho sponsored my biggest African hit,' Kelechi Africana reveals

Kelechi Africana has in an interview with said that Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho funded his song 'Ring' which has over 1.4 million views.

'Ring was courtesy of 001, he funded it.

I did not know how much he contributed because when you follow too much you will either loose or something else will happen.

I met him during his campaigns, he asked who could sing more than Ali Kiba and I stood up, so I was chosen to be singing during his campaigns.'

Kelechi also cleared the air on his roots given that many assume he is not Kenyan.

'I am 100% Kenyan , a Digo from Mombasa.'

Kelechi's song 'Ring' is currently at over 1.4 million views. It is a popular hit on Tiktok.  Speaking about the reaction his song received on the interwebs, Kelechi said,

'I was very shocked, I did not expect it so when I started seeing people doing videos of the songs I could not understand how it was happening.

I wrote ring while walking, I went to the studio and did the song and came up with the lyrics, It's a dedication to all women.'
