As cousins we had the best of times with Kanini. She was always leading the fun plans whether childhood games like “jelly ghost” picking the coolest restaurants, to all the hot spots to try.

She was the tour guide for those of us in the family who come from Germany. Onto from primary, she was not about to leave the limelight. She led the way for the rest of us who wanted to jump into media making it all the more easy to convince our parents that if she could we should to.

When she got sick, we all couldn’t believe it. Why was this happening to such a good person? So young and with such a young family? But she pushed us to be strong even when she was so weak, a quality so noble, warm-hearted and positive. Yes our cousin was so full of life. She inspired many and was the strong hold not only for our family, but also for numerous fans that she had.

Dearest Kan, we really wish we could have spent one last moment together. Just to hear you laugh, just to see your beautiful smile and hear your humorous insights on life. Thank you for your warm hearted soul and wisdom. You have sown in us the will to be courageous against anything that comes our way. Cuz, You have touched so many around the world and for that we are sure your legacy will live forever. Kanini, you’ve left us to be somewhere better... And we know you are smiling down on us saying it is well. Rest our dear lovely cousin, rest with the angels till we me meet again.

To all the birthdays, holidays, sleep-overs, weddings and celebrations, growing up with you was an honour. To the Ndavi family, Janet, you will always be our beloved daughter, auntie, little sister and best friend. Kanini pulled people together..... in her last days she wanted us to have joint Christmas but timing was off for all so we planned to make it an Easter plan and invite all the cousins and close family friends just like we used to when growing up.

Sad we won’t get to share this Easter with you Kanini but we will see your wish come true if but to celebrate your life. As cousins we looked up to her because she always stood tall to lead the way. She was so fearless telling us to go for it.. just eat the crisps she would say, knowing we would get into trouble for eating junk at the wrong time. But somehow she knew how to talk down our parents and come up with a story to get us off the hook.

It was always so hilarious how she provoked fact in her arguments. It was her contagious laugh and smile that did the trick. True to the word, Kanini was our happy fun loving cousin.

And we will miss her “all things are possible personality.” She was so full of life, love and principle. Yes with Kanini things had to be done right, no matter how much fun she was, principles were key.
