Gone too soon! Those are the words of friends who knew celebrated Kalenjin gospel artiste Hellen Chumo Koligey.

Hellen succumbed to breast cancer on Thursday, January 7, 2021. She was revered and loved for her music prowess.

In one of her last posts on Facebook, Hellen wrote,

"God has a way of keeping you until the storm passes. He'll raise people in your valleys to refresh you. His faithfulness is unquestionable!"

A little over a month before she died, she wrote,

"If you are fighting a battle in your life, just remember to keep on fighting. And when you have done all Stand. Victory is guaranteed."

In another post she seems to have made peace. Hellen posted on her Facebook,

"Have you reached a state of Rest, where you are still and know without iota of doubt that God is in control despite the situation? That is what it means to be "still and know He is God"

She continued,

"Be still and know that I am God, is a good word. The battle is in being 'still' i have been fighting to be still. Oh thank God I made it."

Hellen was known for her great wisdom and insights. This is also reflected in a facebook post that spoke volumes.

She advised,

"In order to fly the bird must have two wings. One wing is the realization of our human helplessness, the other is the realization of God's power. Our faith in God's ability to handle our particular situation is the connecting link - Cathrine Marshall."

She concluded,

"It is indeed true, that without God we can do nothing."
