October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

The female cast of the new Kenyan comedic movie "Fundi-Mentals" came together with a bold Photoshoot to encourage women to #ProtectThem and #CheckThem. The actresses are: Kalekye Mumo, Lizz Njagah, Neomi Ng'ang'a, Milkah Ndegwa, Florence Nduta and Ruth Maingi. Photos by Alexandros Konstantaras.

It all hit close to home when during the Photoshoot, the ladies discovered that most of them had been affected one way or another, with close family members/ friends having being diagnosed with breast cancer.
