Kenya's volleyball icon Janet Wanja just turned 35 years old.

To celebrate her new year, she visited a children's home with her Italian bae, Giulio.

He is an IT expert specialising in network and system administraton with Windows/Unix and is a Java Programmer (J2SE).

Giulio has worked as a Network administrator for BT Group plc and Enel, an Italian multinational manufacturer and distributor of electricity and gas.

The volleyball star, who has changed her name to Janet Giulio, has been keeping a low profile. She said turning 35 is a "blessing" and a sign that she is "highly favoured".

Janet also took to Facebook to thank her fans and friends who wished her well.
