He is known to his netizen followers as Bugii King Ihab but his real name is Ihab Salim Kariuki.

According to police reports, Bugii was linked to the shooting and killing of a 4th-year Meru University student in Umoja.

Rodgers Opiyo was shot dead while buying medicine for his sick mother at a chemist in Phadam Hospital in Umoja, Nairobi last week.

Bugii and his gang escaped after shooting Opiyo. Unbeknownst to them, their day was fast approaching.

On April 29, Bugii was involved in a dramatic high-speed chase with the Special Service Unit where he was finally gunned down by police. This was in Ruiru.

Bugii was linked to several murders and armed robbery cases not only in Umoja but also across Nairobi.

A month before the dramatic police chase and eventual death, Bugii had an inkling of impending doom.

Taking to his Facebook on March 30, Bugii wrote,

"Even though I am marked for death, I am gonna spark till I lose my breath. I no longer live in fear. My pistol close in hand, convinced this is my year."

In another post on April 12, he posted a very melancholic quote saying,

"One day you will be just a memory to people, do your best to be a good memory."

This was followed with another post on April 13, taunting the police

One of the Facebook pages said to he run by Blackest Widow a covert group that seeks out criminals and kills them highlighted the death of Bugii.

Bugii and an accomplice were running away in a motorbike which they abandoned and minutes later they were both gunned down.

Police said they recovered a pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition.
