Alphose Kambu, the man accused of savagely beating up his estranged wife on October 21, has come out to ask for forgiveness from the woman's parents who have not taken this matter lightly.

The man, a UNEP employee, has been reported to police for assaulting Ruth Gakii, the mother of his 3-year-old son.  Women's rights activists have already threatened to take to the streets if Kambu, who is said to enjoy diplomatic immunity, is not arrested and charged.

Kambu, a computer programmer, also allegedly sent Ruth a text message on Friday, asking her to move to a public hospital saying he could not afford to pay for her treatment at a private hospital.

She had been receiving treatment for her injuries at the Nairobi Women's hospital where Kambu was not allowed to see her.

Well, it turns out that the man has swallowed his pride and has asked for forgiveness from Ruth's family after her father came out guns blazing and demanded Sh40 million in compensation.

Check out the text apology on the next page:

Yes, a whopping Sh40M for the father, only identified as Samuel, to accept his forgiveness. Speaking to The Star newspaper, Ruth's father had this to say:

I rejected the apology because he was trying to kill my daughter. And he did not call he just texted me. We are demanding him to compensate our daughter first.

Kambu, had sent the text below that was seen by The Star, pleading for forgiveness:

I am deeply sorry baba for what I did to Ruth. I didn't mean to hurt her but I hope we can all find a way out of this situation. I am very sorry again and I hope you will find it in your heart to forgive me. Thank You.

Meanwhile Ruth's lawyer also revealed that Kambu had been at the hospital on a similar mission.

He came the hospital on Thursday with crocodile tears and tried to ask for forgiveness from Ruth. But he was shoved back.

Well, let's see how this drama unfolds. Do you think he should pay the Sh40 Million as demanded?
