The scion of the Odinga political family has given us a background of how it was like during the controversial swearing in of Raila Odinga.

Winnie Odinga was in the studio with Radio Jambo's Massawe Japanni today where she talked her life in the shadow of former Prime minister Raila Odinga.

Asked if she is being groomed to later step into the humongous shoes of her father Winnie said,

"No. i help him the same way i help my family but not politics."

Adding,

"Politics is in my blood. However, I'm more of a background person...a political operative."

Asked about Baba's swearing in back in 2018. The opposition leaders defied authorities to go ahead with a ceremony to swear in Raila Odinga as “president of the people".

Speaking about this, Winnie explained,

"My dad did not want me to go. You know the way US president Kennedy was shot and his wife is the one who held him, i said to my dad if that happens I will be the one to hold you."

She noted,

"Every person at the swearing in was risking their lives."
