The talented artiste said she let go off the pain because she just wanted to be free, keeping no grudges.

This weekend I did a huge thing! I let go of a pain I had been holding in for YEARS and forgave someone (in person) for something that truly hurt me, many years back. I can't even describe the panic I felt having that conversation and the tears that flowed! But I am very happy to report that it is extremely beautiful and light on the other side of forgiveness. That quote, that harbouring anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die is so real! I was just killing myself slowly and missing out on the possibility of such a great relationship with someone because I couldn't speak on my pain. In hindsight, I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. But now that I have, I am at peace, with a very long-term, deep-seated anger and pain relieved from me and I can't wait to see what this does for me and my life! Lesson for today: If you can, and if they are here, talk about it and forgive. Regret is a difficult thing to get over!' read her post.

crochet_braids_kenya So many of us can relate. It's painful to forgive and let go but at the same time it's the most liberating thing you can do for yourself
