Yesterday was a dark Sunday for Mike Sonko's family; his father went to be with the Lord. The old man passed away while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.

Prominent Kenyans among them former Inspector General David Kimaiyo and Kiambu Governor William Kabogo took to social media to console Mike Sonko's family for the loss of their father.

Mike Sonko's controversial daughter Salma Mbuvi also took to social media to mourn her grandfather saying how she would miss him. Here is what she wrote:

"If tears could build a stairway and thoughts a memory lane I'd walk up to heaven and bring you home again ??????????? rest in peace sweet grandpa I'll truly miss you so much I don't know how life will be without you."
