Kenyans were still celebrating the World Athletics Championships victory until yesterday when Harambee Stars ruined the celebration mood. Many of us were convinced that indeed Harambee Stars was going to make us proud after footballers of the national team went around the media boasting of how they were ready for the match and that for the first time, they were going to beat the Chiolopolo boys.

After the match, Kenyan football fans were left frustrated and disappointed as Harambee Stars could not even secure a win on their home-ground. They took to social media to lash out at the national team citing lack of proper preparation, poor selection of players, giving unfit and 'clubless' players time to play amongst other things. Ayub Timbe was the most praised player for his good performance although luck was not on our side, while Denis Oliech was the most attacked, as fans claimed that age is catching up and he needs to retire from football.
