Veteran Kenyan actor Telley Savalas Otieno's burial is ongoing at Uyoma, Siaya country.

Telley who was famed for his role in the popular Swahili telenovela titled Pete died on  February 5, 2022. He played the role of a mermaid hunter.

Yesterday there was a tribute event at the Kenya National Theatre before the cortege embarked on the journey to Uyoma for his final resting place.

Friends of the thespian said, "We celebrate the life of a remarkable artist, passionate performer, and unforgettable man, Telley Savalas."

Adding, "We know that he would want us to not dwell on the sad, but remember the good, we can honour the best of our experiences and the echo of his positive presence.  This will be a festive event to enjoy his memory and pay homage to his passing."
