Kenyan Rapper Habib Wangui has opened up on what he missed most about his late brother Issah Mmari alias Esir.

Esir passed away 18 years ago after being involved in a road accident while coming from a show.

In an exclusive interview with Mpasho, Habib now says what he misses the most is how hard-working his late brother was.

"I was happy when I heard the idea to feature in 'Bandana Ya Esir' because I remember Esir telling me the reason he did music was so that he is remembered forever.

So I was in for the idea from the word go.

I remember how he (Esir) was hard working. There is a time he would trek from home to where the studios were."

Habib says back in the day he used to be affected by people comparing him to Esir but that is now a thing of the past.

'Back then it used to affect me but not anymore. I have accepted myself for who I am, at the end of the day I am Habib I have never seen myself as a celebrity.'

Asked what he misses most about Esir, Nameless responded saying he loved how funny the rapper was.

'Three things stood out, he was hardworking, disciplined, and very humble. He was super talented, fun-loving."

Habib is among artistes who recently featured in the song 'Bandana Ya Esir a song produced as a tribute to the late rapper.

Esir was best known for hits such as Boomba Train, Mos Mos among others.
