Tanzanian Bongo star, Diamond Platnumz has been nominated for the prestigious BET Awards.

The 'Waah' hit maker has stood out as one of the greatest musician in Africa, and is set to compete for the International act category.

Diamond will face it off with Burna Boy(Nigeria) Wizkid(Nigeria), Aya Nakamura (France), Emicida (Brazil), Headie One (UK), Young T & Bugsey (UK) and Youssoupha (France).

The category is highly competitive as both Burna Boy and Wizkid bagged awards during the 64th edition of Grammy Award show, putting Nigeria's flag high in the African map.

The Tanzanian star has scaled the ladder in the music industry, and lately, he inked a deal with Warner, a Multinational entertainment and record label.

This will see Diamond's Wasafi records incorporated into Warner Music of South Africa, giving Diamond a worldwide audience.

In the best actors category, the late Black Panther movie star Chadwick Boseman will contest against 5 others.

The 2021 awards will be held on June 28.
