An autopsy on the body of the late Kevin Omwenga has revealed that the cause of death was excessive bleeding in the left side where he was shot.

Chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor  said the bullet tore through the heart leading to the collapse of the left lung and a lot of internal bleeding in the left side of the chest.

“The bullet came out through his back on the left side after going through the vital organs including the heart. What actually killed him were the injuries,” said Dr Oduor.

Further adding

'It looks like someone who died instantly. When the heart is injured, you have very little chances of survival.”

Dr Oduor, however, noted that the bullet was shot at close range from a higher trajectory and exited through a lower point.

He said the circumstances in which the shooting occurred would best guide on whether the incident was accidental or premeditated.

His sentiments in one having very minimal survival may be true given that Kevin was declared dead upon arriving at the hospital.

Robert Ouko, a bodyguard to Kenyan businessman Chris Obure said that the Omwenga shooting was "accidental".

According to the police the killer weapon belongs to Obure.
