Paul Ongili Owino popularly known as Babu Owino has been at the helm of the University of Nairobi student body leadership for four years now. There are those who feel he's held the position for faaaaaaaar too long.

The 28-year-old who's also looking forward to becoming Embakasi East member of parliament in the 2017 general elections has come out to defend himself after some students took it to the streets to demonstrate against his recent victory.

In our interview today, Babu said that he's actually regretting losing 5,000 votes to his opponents. "I was so disappointed because 5,000 students did not vote for me. That is my regret," stated Babu.

Addressing those who have been complaining that he's been in campus for too long, Babu said that nobody should control his educational life because all he wants is to gain knowledge from the University.

Apart from taking shots at Robert Alai and his ally Mike Jacobs, Babu Owino also alleged that some of the people who are behind the demonstrations are his antagonists from Embakasi East constituency.
