'Kishash' hitmaker Lil Maina has clapped back at music producer Kanzu questioning how one can claim to have 10 years of experience in the industry and still not know how to navigate something as important and simple as split sheets.

This is after Kanzu posted a video on TikTok revealed that he's never earned a single cent from the hitsong that took over the airwaves back in 2022 after its release on 31st December 2021, and to date has over 8.1 million views and 77k likes on YouTube.

Giving his side of the story alongside receipts, the vibrant Abantone artist who also doubles as a YouTube took to X to address the whole situation while highlighting how Kanzu's side of the story was hypocritical and a form of clout chasing.

"We did this song. We were both upcoming, and we never talking about splits. We both knew about it, it's just that we didn't want to be doing that, and you know that.

But now, you're the one coming to talk about splits?" Started off Lil Maina.

Sharing a screen grab of a message Kanzu had sent him back in 2022, the 'Nakam Sahii' crooner argued the producer was more interested on releasing his version of the hit song rather than discussing financial terms.

"All I was seeing was 'can I drop my version' and not 'can we have a split sheet.' You're a funny character," Lil Maina added.

Kanzu gained popularity after he posted a video on his TikTok page voicing how he'd gotten a raw deal as he voiced the importance of having one's paperwork in order before releasing a beat into an artist's custody.

"Yoh, what's good? My name is Kanzu, and I produced the beat for 'Kishash kwa Bash,' yeah that was me, man. Interesting story bro... I have never made money from Kishash. When I tell you I have never made money my friend I mean I've never made money! I have not seen royalties, bro," Kanzu animatedly said in part.

Adding, "for any producers out there make sure your paperwork is in order bro. Make sure you get the bag, and don't watch the artist get rich... if I did it once, I feel like I can do it again and this time round I want it to sound more original, I want it to sound better you know. I want it to be me.

This is what I do man, making music is what I do, making hits is what I do like. 10 years I've been in this game, 10 years I've been making music bro. So just another bump in the road," he confidently stated.
